In spite of a declining PC market, AMD is a company in which I am strongly optimistic about. Ever since AMD bought ATI in 2006, they have been working on a new architecture called the Accelerated Processor Unit that had its debut last year. With barely being products worth selling to the market a year ago, to powering the next generation of gaming consoles by Microsoft and Sony, these new chips have made phenomenal progress.
AMD is starting to make some great progress lately and is expected to be reporting a profit for the next quarter. On top of powering the next generation of consoles, amd will also be powering the graphics on the new Mac Pro, Apple’s High-End Desktop. Also, some rumors also suggest that AMD’s new Temash chip may be powering Microsoft’s Surface Pro 2 Tablet.
Ever since releasing its Earning in July shares have been trading about a dollar below the current levels. However AMD has been trading up 10% for the month of September.
